Frequently Asked Questions
How OptOutAI helps you reduce how your personal data is shared online.
Clear answers about privacy controls, data brokers, and full coverage.
How it works
What does OptOutAI do?
OptOutAI helps you reduce how your personal data is used and shared online.
We guide you through official privacy controls on major platforms and official opt-out pages of data brokers that collect, sell, or share personal information. You complete each step yourself — nothing is submitted without your action.
What is a data broker?
A data broker is a company that collects personal information from public records, online activity, and commercial sources, then sells or shares that data with third parties.
Many people are listed on multiple data broker sites without realising it.
Do you submit opt-out requests on my behalf?
No.
You submit each request yourself using official pages. We guide you through the process and help pre-fill information where appropriate, but nothing is sent without your action.
Free coverage
What platforms are included in the free coverage?
Free coverage includes privacy controls for:
- YouTube
These platforms are part of the two largest online advertising and tracking ecosystems, operated by Meta and Google.
Free coverage also includes one full data broker opt-out with Experian.
How effective is the free coverage?
For most users, free coverage addresses the most influential sources of online data use.
Facebook, Instagram, Google, and YouTube together account for a significant share of digital advertising and cross-site tracking activity. Completing these steps typically reduces a large portion of common ad personalisation and behavioural tracking exposure.
Full coverage extends this protection to additional platforms and data brokers.
Why start with Facebook, Instagram, Google, and YouTube?
These platforms act as central hubs for identity, advertising, and tracking across the web.
Starting with them delivers the greatest privacy impact early, before extending protection to smaller platforms and specialist data brokers.
Why is Experian included for free?
Experian is one of the most well-known data brokers in the UK.
We include one full opt-out as a free privacy starter, so you can see exactly how the process works before choosing whether to continue with additional brokers.
Full coverage & pricing
What does “full coverage” include?
Full coverage gives you access to:
- Additional social and online platforms
- Multiple data broker opt-outs
- New platforms and data brokers added in the future
Coverage is ongoing and updated as data practices change.
Will I pay more as new platforms or data brokers are added?
No.
While you’re subscribed, any new platforms or data brokers we add are included at no extra cost. Your subscription covers ongoing access as coverage expands.
Why is OptOutAI a subscription?
Privacy isn’t static.
Platforms change policies, new data brokers appear, and opt-outs sometimes need repeating. A subscription allows us to maintain accurate guidance, expand coverage, and keep protections up to date over time.
How much does full coverage cost?
Full coverage costs £5.99 per month.
You can cancel anytime.
What happens if I cancel?
You keep access until the end of your current billing period.
After that, no new opt-outs or platforms will be available, but anything you already completed remains valid.
Data & privacy
Do you store or sell my personal data?
No.
We do not permanently store your personal data. Information you provide is used only during your active session to help pre-fill forms and guide opt-out requests.
We never sell your data or share it for marketing or commercial purposes. Your information is only sent to the specific platforms or data brokers you choose, and only when you explicitly submit a request.
OptOutAI is designed to minimise data handling wherever possible.
Is OptOutAI compliant with UK data protection laws?
Yes.
All actions are user-initiated, transparent, and aligned with UK GDPR principles and guidance from the Information Commissioner's Office.
General
Is this a one-time clean-up?
Some opt-outs are one-time, while others may need repeating if data is republished or policies change.
Full coverage allows you to return and continue protecting your data over time.
